Exploring the Marais

This sticker was on a pole in the Marais and says “Yes, marriage for all”; it exemplifies the recent political activity around the gay marriage debate in France.

This is the door to an old aristocratic mansion in the Marais, which shows the elaborate detail and ornamentation compared to nowadays.

This is the picture of a traditional Jewish Bookstore in the Marais area; the name Chir Hadach translates to Shir Hadash in English and is a common name for temples.

This picture shows the commercial part of the Marais and the emphasis on stores, such as the one on the right which sells items for “concept design.”
