After exploring the Marais on foot, I was able to find evidence of the area’s history from the past 4 centuries.
Jardin Anne-Frank- This garden was created in memory of Anne Frank and shows the Jewish presence that remains in the Marais
17th-18th Century- This building was evidence of the aristocracy’s presence in Marais area during the 17th and 18th centuries. The building was built for Jean Habert de Montmor and was redesigned in the early 18th century in the style of Louis XV.
This bar shows the presence of the gay community in the Marais area, which was especially popular in the 20th century.
This photo of Starbucks in the Marais area of Paris between the 3rd and 4th arrondissements shows how as of recent, this area has turned into a popular shopping/restaurant destination.
