While exploring the Marais during a class assignment, a friend and I came upon a restaurant called Les Marronniers. It’s located on Rue des Archives, in the heart of the gay district in the Marais. While the food was delicious, it was the atmosphere that truly captured my attention. The decorations were eclectic and colorful, with rainbow hearts painted all over the windows–almost shouting the restaurant’s allegiance to the surrounding community. We were surrounded by couples simply enjoying the atmosphere. Although the restaurant clearly catered to the Parisian gay community, my waiter made me feel very welcome and at home. Les Marronniers was a fun experience in an incredibly interesting part of the city that I can’t wait to visit again.
