My last exploring Paris took place right in the lobby of our hotel. There is a little French boy staying in the city while he undergoes cancer treatment; he is here with his mom while his dad remains at home. The attendants of the hotel have been extremely accommodating and have helped turn the Citadines into his “home away from home.” One night, a hotel employee asked me to help create a Skype account for him so he could communicate with his dad. I had to create the account, which was in French, while interacting with the Hotel employee, who had trouble understanding the installation process, and the boy, who spoke absolutely no English. After some time, we were able to get the program up and running. The boy was so grateful and waves to me every time I see him. Helping him was by far the most rewarding experience during my time in Paris.
